The objective of phase 6 was to determine the effects of limiting the number of satellites @ 10 Hz. The SYRAC GPS devices were all intended to use GPS + Galileo + BeiDou B1C (no GLONASS), and various satellite limits - 20, 24, and 28.
The tests were started on 2026-07-13 @ 1348 and the duration was over 5 hours. The results showed max sats = 28 to be optimal @ 10 Hz, and 10 Hz to be less accurate than 5 Hz. There was also a hint that SY1 and SY2 have a slight performance disadvantage.
The following device configurations were tested.
| ID | Constellations | Rate | Max Sats | ESP | Observed time distribution (ms) | Drops? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SY1 | GPS + Galileo + BeiDou B1C | 10 Hz | 24 | 160 MHz | 99: 1, 100: 190916, 101: 1 | - |
| S3 | GPS + Galileo | 10 Hz | 24 | 160 MHz | 99: 6, 100: 191198, 101: 6 | - |
| D1 | GPS + Galileo + BeiDou B1C | 10 Hz | 28 | 160 MHz | 99: 8, 100: 191205, 101: 8 | - |

28 satellites (green) performed best, but it is also noticeable that SY devices may not be as good as D devices.

The relative performances from the perspective of medians were much the same as the mean values.

The performances from the perspective of standard deviation were much the same as the mean values.
