COROS Firmware - Downgrading

Background

The speedsurfing mode on the APEX Pro and VERTIX has been broken since firmware 3.050x.0 which was released in Aug 2024.

Owners of the APEX Pro and VERTIX are encouraged to downgrade to an earlier version of the firmware - e.g. 3.0308.0.

Downgrading

The instructions have been removed from the COROS website, but can still be found thanks to the WayBack Machine.

For convenience the instructions are provided here as well.

To manually update the firmware to V3.0308/V3.0309, please follow these steps:

1. Download the files based on your corresponding device.
   • PACE 2 (V3.0309) - Download
   • PACE 3 (V3.0308) - Download
   • APEX Pro (V3.0309) - Download
   • APEX 2 (V3.0308) - Download
   • APEX 2 Pro (V3.0308) - Download
   • VERTIX (V3.0309) - Download
   • VERTIX 2 (V3.0308) - Download
2. Plug your COROS device into the computer using the charging cable.
3. Go to the watch drive.
4. Drag and copy the downloaded files to the Upgrade folder. (Do not replace the folder.)

Notes

I have only had any luck downgrading the APEX Pro and the VERTIX.
